MONDAY: Join the impeachment rally outside John Cornyn’s office

IMPEACH

TX21 Indivisible is hosting an impeachment rally—Monday 10/14 from noon to 1 p.m.! Before the Congressional recess ends, let’s make sure John Cornyn knows that Texans won’t stand for Senate stonewalling. We want the House’s impeachment efforts to be taken seriously, and we expect the Senate to act responsibly and remove Trump from office once his crimes are fully documented by impeachment hearings. Bring signs and gather on the sidewalk outside the building entrance. Small group visits to the Senator’s office upstairs may be possible, depending on staff.

By TUESDAY: Support local activists protesting conditions at the T. Don Hutto Detention Center in Taylor, TX

Indivisible Austin supports our Jewish and immigrant sisters and brothers in this demand to close the Hutto concentration camp in our own backyard.

We’re raising money to charter a bus from Austin to the “Never Again: Sukkot Action Central Texas” rally at the T. Don Hutto Detention Center in Taylor, TX on Tuesday, October 15.

Please consider a gift of $36 to support this urgent moral action and show that we mean #NeverAgainIsNow.

2020 is coming

Texas Observer: Who Is John Cornyn Serving?

Spoiler: It ain’t us.

In an article by Justin Miller, the Texas Observer spells out in excruciating detail Sen. John Cornyn’s history of subservience to corporations and political winds.  Cornyn was engineered in Karl Rove’s lab and the moral fecklessness we’ve seen in him during the Trump era has been evident since the beginning of his career in politics.

Join the Austin #SickOfItTX Block Walk

Health care was the top issue for Texas voters in 2018… but state leaders once again failed to expand health coverage in 2019. Indivisible Austin is sick of it. That’s why we’re co-hosting the #SickOfItTX Block Walk for Health Care in Austin on Nov. 9 as part of a statewide weekend of action for health care.

We’ll be asking neighbors three key questions:

  1. Do you have health insurance?
  2. Do your children have health insurance?
  3. What do you do when you get sick?

These conversation starters will help us better understand the needs of our fellow Texans and recruit others to get involved. Then we’ll give our fellow Texans a megaphone so lawmakers will hear them loud and clear.

Go to www.sickofittx.com/events and sign up for the Austin Block Walk.
