Coronavirus: Support Austin artists and small businesses impacted by the SXSW cancelation

I lost a gig

The cancelation of SXSW due to coronavirus is financially crushing for local creatives and small businesses. Many have lost gigs and revenue that they were counting on. Additionally, wage earners from many industries will suffer lost income and often no paid sick leave (thanks, Ken Paxton). Let’s all show them our support.

Local political consultant Harold Cook also had this brilliant idea to support service workers: Use the hashtag #TipforTwo when you double your tips in Austin!

Meanwhile local candidates are taking action, filling a void left by the Trump administration’s incompetence.

Julie Oliver, who last week won the Democratic primary to become the nominee facing TX25’s Rep. Roger Williams, already has a Coronavirus Response resource on her website.
