One of the core tactics in the Indivisible Guide is to attend Town Halls where you can speak directly to your Members of Congress (MoCs). But what do we do when our MoCs refuse to hold a Town Hall–even during next week’s recess when they are supposed to be in their districts?
Answer: You hold one anyway!
Below are the “mock” Town Halls scheduled so far. In each case, the MoC has been invited to attend and may even show up. But that won’t stop constituents from gathering and raising their concerns. We hear cardboard cutouts, puppets, and other MoC stand-ins will in attendance.

I’m chomping at the bit to have John Cornyn, Ted Cruz or Lamar Smith, but they’re all still in hiding; none has scheduled a town hall meeting that I’m aware of. BUT I’m willing to travel to one of these town halls and do my part. What’s our plan? If we’re not in any of these districts should we still round up a posse and attend?
Best to only attend in your district. And we just added a Cruz/Cornyn event to our calendar.

Our group, Indivisible4Justice, Austin, want to have a mock Town Hall for Cruz and Cornyn.. I am waiting for a venue to respond to my request. I will let you know if we set a date.
Are you going to try to get both Cruz AND Cornyn at the same event? Or do you meant you’ll try to set one for Cruz and another one for Cornyn? And when you say “mock” Town Hall, do you mean that you don’t actually expect Cruz (or Cornyn, or both) to show up?
Hi. I just saw the Town Hall posted for Monday night. This is what we were wanting to do. Not sure if we will do it now. If we do, it would be for Cruz and later on the week. We will invite him, but don’t have hope he will come. I’ll let you know if we decide to do it.
