Some in the GOP, including John Cornyn, claimed this was a joke. Trump is not joking. He may not have the authority to change the date of an election, but his words seek to undermine trust in the entire process.

Cornyn’s Ebola Hypocrisy
In 2014, when Ebola threatened to spread throughout the world, John Cornyn demanded swift and comprehensive action—including a call to screen all airline passengers flying into Texas airports. Ultimately, two American nurses contracted Ebola and both recovered. No U.S. citizens died.
Today, the coronavirus has killed more than 150,000 Americans. Cornyn’s calls for swift federal actions are nowhere to be seen; instead he downplays and distracts by pointing fingers at China.

In partnership with the Texas’ American Federation of Teachers, Jolt is hosting a town hall to discuss the options available to parents and teachers for safely beginning the new school year.
