Former TX 25 Congressional Candidate Julie Oliver to Speak
AUSTIN— On January 3rd, Indivisible groups will organize across the country at the offices of their members of Congress, calling for their strong support for the democracy reform bill that Democrats are expected to introduce that day. (H.R. 1).
Indivisible TX 25 East Austin, Indivisible Eanes / West Austin, TX25 Indivisible Driftwood/Dripping Springs, TX 25 Indivisible We Stand, and Wimberley Indivisible along with several of our allied groups: Common Cause, Fair Maps TX, and Jolt, will rally together on the first day of the new Congress to show their commitment to holding our elected officials accountable to passing bold, progressive legislation over the next two years, starting with H.R.1. This event will be undertaken in an effort to remind Representative Roger Williams of the importance of preserving and protecting our democracy against blatant attempts to erode it.
These actions are part of the Indivisible movement’s “Whose House? Our House!” national day of action. After helping build the “blue wave” that put Democrats in control of the House of Representatives, Indivisible groups will be asking their representatives to publicly demand that H.R. 1 be a bold, progressive, comprehensive democracy package that includes reforms on voter empowerment and access, money in politics reforms, and corruption fixes.
